With a Style so uniquely her own, Danisha Drury, Interior Designer and TV Personality of Victoria BC Canada, defines sophistication with a modern glamor style invoking her passion and love for interior design and acting into her every project.
After owning a few small successful businesses on Vancouver Island, Danisha Drury began her career in interior design in 2007, where she worked at Home Emagination Design Center and quickly rose to the top by heading the Window Treatment Department. Then upon completing Interior Design and graphic programs at Camosun College and Royal Roads University, Drury’s flair and innate ability for interior design led her to start her own company in 2008, 101 Interior Design. Four years later in 2010, with her ever drive for success, Drury, a founding partner and president, opened another venture, a 2’400-square-foot interior design resource library called Design District Studio Inc. with her invaluable partner Donna Morrison. In 2011-2012 Drury started her film career first on the web and then developed into a TV production called Design District the Series. Then In 2012 Drury transferred the shares from 101 Interior Design to Danisha Drury Design Inc. to further brand her television personality and self branding business.
More recently Danisha Drury has been seen in Yam Magazine, Homes & Living Magazine, Snap Magazine and the Times Colonist. . Drury also in 2010-2011 had a talk show about interior design on CFAX Radio called “Hot Properties,” where she took live callers to discuss their design needs. Now Danisha Drury is the interior designer on the CHEK TV show, “Design District the Series”, airing weekly. There’s only onward and upward for the inspiring entrepreneur Danisha Drury.
Danisha Drury’s dedication and drive to give back has allowed her to become part of Habitat for Humanity projects, which include: building homes in Costa Rica as well as a volunteer for BC Children’s Hospital Foundation Lottery Home and Charity Events. Currently Drury is also a proud supporter of the Change Heroes campaign to help build a school in Kenya for free the children.
Danisha Drury has lived in various places around north America, Ontario Canada, Hawaii, Southern California and finally settling on Vancouver Island allowing her a great appreciation for nature and all things beautiful. The design genes also run generational for Drury as her Grandfather was an Engineer, her Mother a Realtor and her Father a Builder.
When Drury is not working, she loves spending time with her family and friends, traveling, gardening, snowboarding, aerobics, reading, photography, doing yoga, scrap-booking and taking care of her indoor flower collection consisting mainly of orchids. Drury’s interior design inspiration comes from any and everything beautiful, art, nature, travel or even an heirloom.
Drury’s primary home is Victoria, Vancouver Island BC Canada, where she lives and enjoys her busy life with her husband, (Steven Slegg) and three beautiful children.
